The titles of the artworks indicate the currency it was printed on. The sceneries of “Places I have never been” refer to actual places as well as the economic status one often strives to reach.
Born In China, Jiangsu Province, in 1979, Tao grew up just as China’s rapid modernization began to take root. When his father bought a TV, the first in his the neighborhood, Tao could see the world and understand his country. A new revolution had started.
